The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the largest organized group of nutrition professionals in the United States. They oversee the registration and continuing education of Registered Dietitians. However, recent documents have revealed they accept large sums of money from corporate donors like Pepsi, Nestle, and the National Dairy Council. If the AND and Dietitians as a whole are supposed to promote nutrition to better serve individuals and communities, shouldn’t they be denouncing these kind of companies instead of accepting money and research from them? Is this ethical? I give my thoughts on this and more in this video.

Bugs and Artificial Coloring In Yogurt? Why You Should Always Look Into the Ingredients in Your Food
Sometimes you see something you just can never unsee! I watched a video on YouTube “How It’s Made Yogurt” and saw a machine pouring out red artificial coloring into the mixture. This prompted me to do some more reading and came to find out that it’s not just artificial coloring being added to a lot of yogurt, but also carmine which is derived from cochineal bugs! Now I’m not saying all yogurt is bad or corrupted, I like the 2G stuff from Aldi which is either plain or lightly sweetened. The yogurt affected by this would be any with a blue or red hue or with fruit added in. Just a friendly reminder to look into what is in your food!
